OSM2HDX Scale Up Plan
The primary goals in adding more countries to the OSM extracts on HDX are to
- Provide extracts for emerging crises as needed
- Provide a steadily increasing number of countries based on OCHA priorities (defined below)
- Monitor performance of the OSM2HDX systems as the number of countries increases and take action if performance problems emerge
The prioritization divides countries into 6 categories based on the following criteria:
A+ | System-wide L3 or OCHA corporate L3 ("L3" is a formal designation within the humanitarian system of the most urgent crises) |
A | Ongoing response / Hum. Needs Overview; OCHA Country Office; OCHA Hum. Assistance Team with Information Management |
B | OCHA Regional Office; OCHA Response < 3 years; INFORM risk > 5.0; INFORM risk >3.5 and increasing |
C | Regional Office preparedness priority |
D | other country identified for preparedness |
E | None of the above |
The current summary of how many countries are in each category and how many have extracts on HDX is tracked in a google sheet.
The list of countries and their priorities and statuses provides a place for assigning countries to be created in the tool to authorized users and for tracking the status of each country.
Please follow the Guideline for creating an OSM extract for HDX when creating a new export region.
