Flash Updates are associated with Digital Situation Reports. Therefore, you must have access to a published Digital Situation Report before you can issue a Flash Update.

Create a Flash Update

Flash Updates are created from the main editing page.

  1. Click “Add Entry” from the right hand-side.

  2. Select “Flash Update”, found under “All Content Types” in the drop down menu.

Complete all of the fields in the Flash Update editing window.

Related Situation Report

Required.

  1. Select “Link existing entry”.

  2. Locate the related Situation Report in the “Insert existing entry” pop-up window.

  3. Click on the Situation Report to close the pop-up window.

How many hours should this remain visible?

Required. Select the amount of hours from the drop-down menu.

Title

Required. Enter a title for the Flash Update. There is a 96 character limit. The title also appears at the top of the editing window.

Body

Required. Enter the Flash Update’s context here. There is no character limit.

Image

Optional. To add an image, select either “Create new asset and link” or “Link existing asset”.

Click “Publish” in the right sidebar to publish your Flash Update. It will appear on your Digital Situation Report after publishing.

Unpublish a Flash Update

You can remove a Flash Update before the time expires.

  1. Locate your Flash Update. The quickest way is to use the search bar in Content to filter for Flash Updates.

  2. Click on your Flash Update to open the Editor.

  3. In the right sidebar, click on the arrow next to Change Status.

  4. Click Unpublish from the dropdown.

  5. Click Yes, unpublish anyway in the pop-up window to confirm.
