Consultant Recruitment
Overview
Using consultants for shorter-term projects or for skills that are not needed on a daily basis can be a cost-effective way to get additional support for the IM team. Many units hire consultants for tasks such as:
graphics and visualizations
database design
web design
Process
The recruitment process for consultants working with OCHA country offices may vary from country to country but is usually managed through UNDP.
ToRs can be circulated to the IM community (for example through the IMWG), with instructions for interested applicants to submit their CVs and proposals, that show why they are the most suitable candidates for the job, a brief methodology on how they will approach and conduct the assignment, and financial proposal (expected monthly salary) to the recruiting manager or to HR colleagues.
